Catskill issues snow emergency | News
Due to the forecast of 6 to 12 inches of snow, the Village of Catskill has declared a snow emergency starting at 8 pm on Thursday, March 31.
All cars should be parked on the odd side of the street from 8 pm to 8 am, vehicles should then be parked on the even side of the street from 8 am to 8 pm. Vehicles should continue to switch sides of the street every 12 hours, until the snow emergency has been canceled.
Parking enforcement will remain in effect for a period of 72 hours for clean up purposes.
Effective Thursday, March 31, there will be no parking on Main Street from Greene Street to Summit Avenue beginning at 7 p.m. to ensure Main Street is one of the first streets to be cleared of snow.
Residents who usually park on Main Street should utilize municipal parking lots.
All cars must follow alternate parking regulations. Any vehicle violating the snow emergency parking regulations could be ticketed or towed at the owner's expense.
